Welcome to Project Somnus!  It’s great to meet you. I’m the Night Owl, and it’s my mission to help you get deep, restful sleep each and every night, naturally and without the need for expensive or habit-forming medications.  Good quality sleep is a precious thing, and if received consistently can form the foundation for a healthy, happy life.  But if you’re here, odds are that you are not getting the sleep you need, or the life you deserve.  It’s the goal of Project Somnus to change that, as quickly and sustainably as possible.

I suffered for many years from severe insomnia and other sleep disorders that left me exhausted, sickly, and unproductive.  The doctors I visited suggested that my condition was incurable, and that my only course of treatment was a costly prescription to possibly habit-forming medication with a risk of serious side effects.  I decided that I would rather educate myself on the root causes underlying my condition, and heal myself naturally and sustainably without the need for a prescription.  Over the years I’ve learned a lot, and am now much healthier and happier as a result.  And now, I want to pass on these hard-won lessons to all of you.

During the weeks to come I will be posting frequently to build out the site and share the tips, tricks, strategies, and recommendations that I hope will help each of you on a path toward better sleep, and a better life.  The quality of your sleep is affected by almost every facet of your life, so the articles I will be posting will cover a wide range of topics, including everything from diet and exercise to the cleanliness of your sleep space, light pollution, indoor air quality, cognitive state, and beyond.  There’s a lot to cover, but rest assured that the answers to your questions are coming.
